Ella History
This sleepy village dwells in the heart of tea county. Accessible by one of the most scenic train rides in the world, let alone Sri Lanka, it’s remote location and temperate climates make it ideal for tea plantations. According to Sri Lankan mythology, the villainous Ravana is thought to have imprisoned Sita in the Rawana Ella Cave, a location you may visit and explore today.
