STOP 1: CHOICE OF OPTIONS

  • *OPTION 1: Sigiriya Lions Rock

Sigiriya or Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. It is a site of historical and archaeological. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle, King Kasyapa built his new capital and royal palace on the top of this rock. He also built a gateway in the form of a massive lion on a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock. Sigiriya is a World Heritage Site and one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

 
  • *OPTION 2: Pidurangala Rock

Climb the nearby Pidurangala Rock where you walk through nature - forested area and reach the top where you can enjoy the breath-taking view of the landscape and Sigiriya Lion Rock at the top. It is believed that the history of Pidurangala Vihara is goes back beyond to the first and second century BC. During that period, Pidurangala was used as a Buddhist monastery and became a place of prominence during the reign of King Kasyapa.

STOP 2: ADVENTURE WILD SAFARI

Udawalawe SafariMinneriya National Park was originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary so as to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance. It was built by King Mahasen in third century AD. A great number of elephants are attracted to grass fields of the reservoir during the dry season. The national park's faunal species include 24 species of mammals, 160 species of birds, 9 species of amphibians, 25 species of reptiles, 26 species of fish, and 75 species of butterflies. The park is also an important habitat for the two endemic monkeys of Sri Lanka: purple-faced langur and toque macaque. Additionally, you may catch sight of the sambar deer and axis deer, leopard and the sloth gray slender loris.

STOP 3: AYURVEDIC MASSAGE
